What does Tutisto offer that other tutoring services do not?
We are extremely selective when it comes to choosing our tutors. We understand that it takes more than knowing the subject matter to be an effective tutor. As such, we search for those people who are not only knowledgeable on the subject matter, but effective at conveying their knowledge to your child. Simply put, our tutors are uniquely positioned to help your child succeed in ways that other tutors cannot.
Why should I use Tutisto when I can get the answers to test questions on the Internet?
Because our tutors don’t simply sit there and hand your child the answers. Rather, our tutors work hard to improve your child’s learning process in order to better equip him or her to actually learn instead of simply reciting back memorized information.
How do I know I can trust Tutisto tutors?
At Tutisto, we are highly selective about who we will entrust with the responsibility of helping your child learn more effectively. To this end, we rigorously screen our applicants to ensure that they are both trustworthy and effective. We conduct background checks and test them to ensure their unimpeachable character and effectual teaching methods.
What do you charge your tutoring?
Tutoring prices vary from subject to subject. Please contact us so we can figure out the total cost for your tutoring session with Tutisto.
What is TutorCruncher, and why do I need to create an account?
Tutisto uses TutorCruncher software for accounting, online payments, and lesson booking. Tutors and students can use it to view and modify schedules, log hours tutored, write reports, and more.
How can I schedule a booking?
All you need to do is fill out our secure booking form, enter the subject you need help with, and when you need us to arrive. It’s that simple! After you’ve registered your details, you’ll very shortly receive a confirmation email or phone call form Tutisto.
How do I cancel or reschedule my tutoring session?
It’s simple! You can either email us with the contact form below, or call or text us at 858-345-7376, and we will help you out. Because we reserve a time especially for you, please make any schedule changes 24 hours before the time of service to avoid incurring a 50% cancellation fee of the final price. Cancellations made less than 6 hours from the time of the session will incur the full session charge.
What is the Tutisto guarantee?
If you are unhappy with your tutor, let us know within 48 hours, and you will be provided a make-up session with a different tutor. If you still aren’t satisfied, you’ll receive a refund. This means you can give us a try at absolutely no risk.
Which cities do you offer tutoring?
We are currently providing services in southwestern San Diego County. This Includes Imperial Beach, Chula Vista, and Coronado. If you don’t see your location here, contact us, and we’ll let you know if we can tutor in your area or when we plan to start tutoring there.
I submitted an enquiry for a tutor. What happens next?
You will immediately receive an email or phone call from Tutisto so that we can gather more information if needed. We will then contact the best matching tutors for your needs and see who is available for the session. After we’ve picked your tutor, we will send you a confirmation email or phone call with their name, so you know who’s coming. You’ll also receive text messages before your session takes place so that you won’t forget.
How do I reschedule or edit a session?
If you want to extend the length of your session or change the topic, just give us a call or text at 858-345-7376, or email us with the contact form below. You can also start a chat on the website, and we can make the changes for you.
How do I pay for a tutoring session?
You can pay over the phone, or manage your account online HERE. We only accept major credit/debit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Discover, AmEx.) Cash or checks are not accepted.
Can I tip my tutor?
Please do! You can tip your tutor while he or she is at your home with cash or Venmo, or you can request us to add it to their pay via your credit card.
Is my payment information safe on your website?
Absolutely! We use Stripe; an SSL encrypted, PCL compliant system that is trusted and used by companies around the world.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because we reserve a time especially for you, please make any schedule changes 24 hours in advance to avoid incurring a 50% cancellation fee of the total price, and a 100% fee if within 6 hours. We appreciate your understanding.
Why are my Tutisto charges marked as recurring on my bank statement?
For some, charges from Tutisto show as ‘recurring’ on their bank statements, even though it is a non-subscription charge. Please be assured; this is not a recurring charge. To maintain PCI compliant, our payment processor, Stripe cannot store CVC codes, (the three digit code on the back of your payment card) so your payment is marked as ‘recurring’ to help your bank understand why the charge is missing that information.
